Summer Events Return
Several special events occur during the summer season. Each of the events below represent opportunities for fellowship in a Christian environment, so come enjoy and experience the loving world of First Presbyterian.
Blessing of the Animals - On the morning of Saturday, June 23 at 10am, we invite everyone to bring their pets (in cages or on leashes) to the First Presbyterian lawn for a service of blessing for our animal friends. This year we invite you to bring contributions of pet food which will be given to an animal rescue shelter.
Vacation Bible School - The week from July 15 to July 20 between 6:00 and 8:30 pm, First Presbyterian holds its annual Vacation Bible School. The theme this year is Rolling River Rampage - Experience the Ride of a Lifetime with God. Assembly time with new songs to learn, bible study with lessons on Jesus' ministry, crafts, recreation, and snacks are all features of our very popular VBS programs. Children ages 4 to 12 are welcomed.
Peach Festival - On Saturday August 11, First Presbyterian holds it annual Peach Festival and Auto Show. Food, inclulding peach shortcake, is available for purchase and peach pies may be bought or ordered. Activities for the children, music for all, and a large collection of classic cars are all part of the fun. Come and enjoy.
Flea Market - Friday August 31 and Saturday September 1 are the dates for this year's Flea Market. Inside and outside, we provide an unbelievable array of items at equally unbelievable prices. This year we are adding old TV sets to clothers as things we will not accept or sell. Come and find just what you never thought you needed!
Church Picnic - Our summer ends with church service and a picnic at Cedar Creek Park Acrivity Center on Sunday, Septermber 9. This is a covered dish event, with the church providing meat and drink, and you providing all the rest. Worship including communion begins at 10:45 am with luncheon immediately following. This is a wonderful way to end summer and start our fall season. Join us for the celebration.
