Christian Education

Christian Education is given high priority at First Presbyterian.  Regular classes for all ages from Pre-K to adults are given on Sunday mornings, and special shorter-term bible study groups meet during evenings.  Vacation Bible School and the Christmas Pageant are both education and outreach opportunities, as children beyond our congregation participate.

Each week, Sunday School for children and Adults meets at 9:30 AM.  During the Worship service, a special message for our younger members is presented, followed by Junior Church in our Fellowship Hall for those below grade 3.

The Christmas Pageant uses children of our church and beyond our congregation to tell the story of the first Christmas.  Presented during the worship hour in Advent, the pageant has used newborns of our members as the Christ child for the past several years.

Vacation Bible School, held in the evenings during one week in July, provides for children from pre-school through elementary grades.  Usually using study and activity materials from an external supplier, this activity routinely serves over 50 children, roughly triple our own population in this age group.

Introduction to Bible Study

Led by Pastor Sue, this class is intended to give people new to bible study a way to approach the Word through the help of the Holy Spirit.   It meets weekly on Wednesday afternoons at 2:30 PM in the church Parish House.

Bible Study

Following our studies of Genesis and Exodus, the participatory bible study class has suspended activities for the summer.  The curriculum for the fall restart will be announced as September draws near.
