Zoom Meeting / Congregational

In the Presbyterian Reformed tradition, Christ is the Head of the Church.  The on-going work of the church is the responsibility of its members, led by Christ and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.  Certain lay members are elected by the congregation to serve as ordained officers of the church to discern the tasks that this particular portion of the Body of Christ need to undertake and to make decisions on behalf of the congregation as to how those tasks should be funded and accomplished.

The Session, composed of 13 ordained elders and moderated by the pastor, serves as the church's spiritual leaders and has oversight over all its ministries.  It meets at least monthly except for July to engage in Bible study and prayer and review the work of its committees and conduct such business as may be needed.

Standing committees of the Session are chaired by an elder but are open to any member of the church who feels called to serve in the area of the committee's responsibility. The following committees meet as needed and called by the chair:

  • *Christian Education
  • Membership and Outreach
  • Memorial Endowment
  • Missions
  • Nominating Committee
  • Personnel
  • Property and Finance
  • Worship and Music

Board of Deacons

The Board of Deacons, composed of 11 ordained Deacons and chaired by a board-elected moderator, provides pastoral care both inside the church and outside to the wider community. It has many on-going ministries.
